Outdoor Rural Education Center

The Outdoor Rural Education Center at the Walton House Museum

This permanent exhibit building, constructed by craftsmen with pioneer-era building methods, opened in June 2026. It evokes the look and feel of an early farm outbuilding while the exhibit inside honors the agricultural roots of our community. Step inside a building held up with hand-hewn beams and look out of windows that were once in the Gerber House at Benham's Grove. Come see a variety of horse-drawn farm implements, people powered machines, and hand tools. Learn the stories of a few notable farmers from across our community who lived in the past and helped to shape our modern-day life.
