Cemetery Restoration

Preserving local history is at the center of the mission of Centerville-Washington History. The Sugarcreek Baptist Church Cemetery, the "old Centerville cemetery", located behind Chiapas Mexican Grill on N. Main Street is in dire need of preservation. Plans are underway for some professional intervention in 2021. However, volunteers can make a HUGE difference this fall by working together to clean the gravestones using safe practices. Ed Ross, CWH Board President, has been leading this project and is ready and willing to train and equip you for this important task.
Join the Sugarcreek Baptist Church Cemetery gravestone clean-up crew.  This outdoor activity will allow for social distancing and a safe volunteer experience.
