Cemetery Restoration

Preserving local history is what Centerville-Washington History is all about. The Sugarcreek Baptist Church Cemetery, the "old Centerville cemetery," located behind Chiapas Mexican Grill on N. Main Street is ready for ROUND TWO of cleaning. GREAT progress was made in the fall -- see the before & after photo above. However, volunteers are still needed to clean the remaining gravestones using safe practices. Thanks to grants from Washington Township and the Centerville Washington Foundation, professional restoration of the most damaged stones is underway! Ed Ross, CWH Board President, has been leading this project and is ready and willing to train and equip you for this important task.
Join the Sugarcreek Baptist Church Cemetery gravestone clean-up crew.  This outdoor activity will allow for social distancing and a safe volunteer experience.
